Vinay Shukla the National award winning filmmaker proudly claims that his upcoming movie ‘Mirch’ is India’s first ever film in the erotic genre. He has roped in Bollywood actresses likes of Raima Sen, Konkona Sen Sharma and Shahana Goswami for the prominent female leads in the movie. The likes of Shreyas Talpade, Boman Irani, Arunonday Singh, Rajpal Yadav, Tisca Chopra and Ila Arun will be playing off the central female characters. The movie is being released under Reliance Big Pictures banner on 10th December 2010 in screens across India.

Shukla says that ‘Mirch’ has four different stories with a fifth one connecting them all. The stories celebrate womanhood under the garb of outright adultery! Though 'Mirch' is a sex-comedy it doesn't deal with the theme of adultery like slapstick humour. There’s a lot of wit and intellect in it.

National award winning actress Konkana Sen Sharma feels that Indian audiences are mature enough to handle the depiction of female sexuality in Mirch. Speaking about ‘Mirch’ the Bengali actress says she plays a Rajasthani princess in one story and a contemporary woman in the other. The movie is about a director showcasing four of his stories that he wants to make into a film. The women in the film are mischievous, but Vinay treats each subject in a very classy manner.

The first look of the movie is an elaborate 4 minute video which connects the lives of the four central characters in the movie. Watching her do this dance, guys like me have taken up dancing. Normally I do heavy weight exercises, but once I did a yoga session with Payalji, I was so relaxed and had a clear thought process"

Cancer Awareness Movie 1 a Minute Premiere - NyooTV

Social activists Priya Dutt and Smita Thackeray attended the premiere event of the cancer awareness movie '1 a Minute' at PVR Cinemas. Bollywood stars like Hrithik Roshan and Fardeen Khan were also present at the event. 1 a Minute, a docudrama, is directed and produced by Indo-American actress Namrata Singh Gujral, who is a breast cancer survivor. The film chronicles Gujral's life as she is diagnosed and treated for breast cancer. The title '1 a Minute' reflects the horrific fact that breast cancer takes the life of one woman every 69 seconds.

The movie stars breast cancer survivors like Lisa Ray, Barbara Mori, Mumtaz, Namrata Singh Gujral, Olivia Newton-John, Jaclyn Smith, Melissa Etheridge, Diahann Carroll, brothers Billy Baldwin and Danny Baldwin whose mother is a survivor, and finally Priya Dutt whose mother, the famous Bollywood star Nargis Dutt, died of cancer.


Priya Dutt said, "We have been linked to this cause for nearly 30 years now. My mother was a cancer victim and because of the same my dad took up the cause. Since my dad passed away we've taken up the mantle. We will try to reach out to every part of India and create Cancer awareness."

The Guzaarish superstar Hrithik Roshan said, "It is a great effort to create awareness about this disease. My sister is a cancer survivor herself. Barbara Mori, my Kites co-star has also survived cancer. They caught it early because of the awareness they had." Fardeen who came with his wife Natasha added, "It's a cause that is very close to our hearts. My father succumbed to it and Natasha's mother has suffered from it."
