Tanu Weds Manu is a Hindi romantic comedy film with R.Madhavan, Kangana Ranaut and Jimmy Shergill in the lead roles. The film is directed by Aanand L. Rai and produced by Shailesh R. Singh. This story about two individuals as different as chalk and cheese has been scripted by Himanshu Sharma.
The film has R. Madhavan portray the character of Manoj Sharma aka Manu, a demure and obedient NRI doctor, who comes to India to get married to the girl his parents have chosen for him. While we have Kangana Ranaut as Tanuja Trivedi aka Tanu, the rebellious and outspoken small town girl, who has a very distinct mind of her own and would indulge in everything her parents disapprove. The film is all about the drama that unfolds when Manu and Tanu come face to face for an arranged marriage!
Kangana Ranaut will be seen an all-new vivacious and spirited avatar, quite different from her previous on-screen characters. The actress known to live the character she plays has done a brilliant job as the feisty, unruly and defiant Tanu! Dancing diva Madhuri, settled in USA, will have her second stint on the small screen but as a judge. She will be the star attraction as one of the celebrity judges on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, which will go on air on December 12 on Sony TV. The show will be aired twice a week on Mondays and Tuesdays at 9:00 pm IST. Apart from Madhuri Dixit the show has model turned actress, Malaika Arora Khan and Remo D’Souza as judges.
The show has celebrities from all walks of life compete with professional dancers as partners. The show's format is has been adapted from the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ show on BBC One in UK, which has been a huge success in over 30 countries like America, Australia, New Zealand, and Italy where it is known as ‘Dancing with the Stars’. However, the Indian version has been modified largely to appeal to Indian viewers. The performances on the show are very energetic, exuberant and full of life, considering the Bollywood influences. Though the themes and concepts of the episodes are programmed keeping this influence in mind, the show promotes dance forms like salsa, jiving, hip hop, etc. This season of the show will have the contestants perform before a live studio audience, judges and the entire viewing public to prove their mettle. The film, Patiala House is about Parghat Singh Kahlon (Akshay Kumar) aka Gattu whose parents had migrated to England from Punjab and has a large family in the United Kingdom. Gattu runs a shop in Southall, in England. He is also a talented fast bowler who nurtures the dreams of making it big by playing for England in the ICC World Twenty20 cup series cup series. Gattu is at cross roads when he has to confront his traditionalist father Gurtej Kahlon (Rishi Kapoor) who believes in protecting their Indian culture and identity, thereby giving rise to a conflict between father and son. But the film sees Gattu give up his dreams and save his father’s reputation when he meets a girl who shows him the path and gives him strength to stand up for what he truly believes in. This cross-generation drama is about second chances. The film beautifully deals with the identity crisis faced by Indians bred in foreign lands. Akshay Kumar's character is loosely based on the life of English cricketer Monty Singh Panesar.

The music launch of Yamla Pagla Deewana was a start studded affair with the Bollywood bigwigs attending the event in droves. Produced by Top Angle Productions, the movie will again bring together the Deol Trio - Dharamendra, Sunny and Bobby - for the second time after their film Apne in 2007. Film maker Samir Karnik and producer Nitin Manmohan set the evening in motion by unveiling the songs of the film with an audio-visual. One blockbuster number “Tinku Jiya”, from this movie, is already creating waves these days.
The highlight of the evening was when Dharam Paaji, broke out into a jig to the tune of the title track of the film, ‘Main Yamla Pagal Deewana’ in his traditional trademark style. His sons Sunny and Bobby were quick to follow him. The leading lady of the film - Kulraj Randhawa - and Anu Malik joined the Deols on stage alongwith the playback singers of the film.Apart from this, the event also marked the reunion of the famous Sholay pair, Jai-Veeru, with Amitabh Bachchan making it a point to attend the event and join his dear friend on stage. The music was formally launched by Amitabh Bachchan, whom Dharamendra cordially invited on stage to do the honours as he referred to him as “Mera Jai…”
The film has been made to mark Dharamendra’s fifty years in the film industry and also to commemorate the actor’s 75th birthday. At the event, Big B said that he wished his dear friend all the success and seventy five years more of entertaining. Dharamendra on his part said that it was overwhelming to have entertained the audiences for so many years and he was thankful to all his fans for all the love he received in these years. He also said that acting for him was not a profession but the love of his life. Others who were present at the gala night include Salman Khan, Abhay Deol, Tanay Deol, Suneil Shetty, Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, Aditya Pancholi, Prakash Jha, Indra Kumar, Bhushan Kumar & Kishen Kumar.
The soundtrack for the film has been composed by a number of renowned music directors like Pyarelal of the duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal fame, DJ team Rhythm-Bass-Dhol (RDB), Anu Malik, Sandesh Shandilya, and others. There are quite a few lyricists including Dharmendra himself and veteran lyricist Anand Bakshi, Irshad Kamil among others. Daler Mehendi, Sukhwinder Singh, Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan have rendered their melodious voices for the songs.Yamla Pagla Deewana is slated for release on 14th January, 2011.
