Music review for upcoming Bollywood film Kuchh Luv Jaisa

Kuchh Luv Jaisa is Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s next production which has his wife Shefali Shah and Rahul Bose in the lead roles. The music for the film has been created by Bollywood composer, Prtiam Chakravarty while Tapas Relia has created the background music. The film has five tracks. ‘Naina’ sung by Mohit Chauhan is the first song to be released. Mohit Cauhan’s rendition gets to you, despite the simplicity of the tune. Thoda sa Pyaar that has been rendered to perfection by Sunidhi Chauhan and Anupam Amod, is yet another slow and beautiful number which has two more versions sung by newcomer Mannan Shah and Naresh Iyer. Mannan Shah has also lent his voice for another number, Baadlon pe Paaon. The last song of the film, Khwab Tha with two versions is another slow and touchy number sung by Nikhil D’Souza.

Kuchh Luv Jaisa is the story of a housewife, Madhu who has a loving husband and kids. However, Madhu’s husband forgets her birthday, which comes once in four years on 29th February. Shefali then decides to let down her hair, splurge, indulge and have a blast and celebrate her birthday all by herself instead of sulk and pity herself! As she sets out to try out new things, she has a chance encounter with a detective Rahul Bose, who actually turns out to be a wanted criminal by the cops! She takes a fancy for his work and requests him to let her join him for a day in his investigations. What follows is very interesting as two strangers are thrown together while tracing a case.

The film’s cast includes Sumeet Raghavan and Neetu Chandra in supporting roles along with the film’s lead pair, Shefali Shah and Rahul Bose. The film is written and directed by Barnali Shukla and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. Kuch Luv Jaisa will be in theatres on 27th May, 2011. Shefali Shah who had to shed kilos for this role will be co-starring with Rahul Bose for the second time. The first time was for the film, 15 Park Avenue by Aparna Sen, in which they played a married couple.
