Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 to release in 2D

One of the most awaited films of the year, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will not be released in 3D version. Warner Bros Pictures have decided to release ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1’ in 2D, as they won’t be able to complete a 3D version of the film for the worldwide release on 19th November.

“Despite everyone’s best efforts, we were unable to convert the film in its entirety and meet the highest standards of quality. We do not want to disappoint fans who have long-anticipated the conclusion of this extraordinary journey, and to that end, we are releasing our film day-and-date on November 19, 2010 as planned. We, in alignment with our filmmakers, believe this is the best course to take in order to ensure that our audiences enjoy the consummate ‘Harry Potter’ experience,” said producer David Heyman.

Director David Yates continued, “This decision, which we completely support, underscores the fact that Warner Bros. has always put quality first.” Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 is still scheduled to be released in 2D and 3D on July 15th, 2011. In the movie, Harry, along with his best friend Ron and girl friend Hermione, sets out on a perilous mission to track down and then destroy the secret to Voldemort’s immortality.

Milla Jovovich, a new dimension of evil in Resident Evil: AfterLife 3D

Resident Evil: AfterLife is the fourth installment in a series of film adaptations based loosely on Capcom's survival horror video game series Resident Evil. The movie stars the 34 year Serbian beauty Mila Jovovich, who plays the central role of ‘Alice’ in the movie. The 3D science fiction action horror film written and directed by Mila’s husband, Paul W. S. Anderson will be releasing in screens across the world on 10th September, 2010. The movie also stars the likes of Ali Larter and Wentworth Miller who were previously seen in American TV serials ‘Heroes’ and ‘Prison Break’ respectively.

The movie had two taglines, ‘She's back...And she's bringing a few of her friends’ and ‘September 10 Experience a New Dimension of Evil’. The poster sees Milla falling through a broken window After Life picks up from where the third edition ‘Resident Evil: Extinction’ ends as Alice (Milla) is roaming the world in search of remaining survivors. She teams up with a group of survivors from Los Angeles and helps them to free another group of survivors who had been hiding in a prison. The movie sees first time appearances for legendary video game characters Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts) and Chris Redfield (Wentworth Miller). The movie was shot using James Cameron’s 3D Fusion Camera System in Toronto from September to December 2009.

Alice, the lead character in the movie is a former Umbrella Corporation security officer who was accidentally exposed to the T-virus which has given her superhuman abilities and has been hunted down by Umbrella Corporation since her escape from Raccoon City. The Prison Break fame ‘Michael Scofield; Wentworth Miller who plays the role of Chris Redfield, works with an unnamed military organization combating the heinous virus outbreak. This is Miller’s first Hollywood movie and in an interesting interview said that there is something about evil that is "thoughtless and relentless."

With breath-taking 3D graphics and mind-blowing special effects the movie promises to be one of the biggest releases this summer with an expectation of over $60 million collection at the box office. The movie recently held its premiere in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo. The movie’s leads were all present, with Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter leading the way in sparkling ensembles.
