Jhootha John Abraham takes the Lie Detector Test at Jhootha Hi Sahi promotional event

The Jhootha Hi Sahi team, composing John Abraham, Pakhi, and Rahguram, was present at the launch of a ‘Lie Detector’ machine at a promotional event for the movie in Chennai. The ‘Dostana’ star and the hunk of Bollywood was looking at his muscular best in a tight short black T-shirt. The movie, whose music has been scored by A R Rahman, will be releasing in theatres all across India on 15th October.

The lead pair of the movie released the lie detector machine in the presence of the notorious Raghuram on the stage. The ‘Roadies’ guru asked various tricky questions to the cast of the movie and it turned out that the biggest liar of them was the ‘hero’ John Abraham. However, the sexy actor was quick to defend himself saying that everyone has to lie at some point in their life. They are just ‘White Lies’ and won’t hurt anyone.

The funniest part was when Raghuram asked John whether he thinks whether the bald Raghu is sexy or not? Surprise! Surprise! The machine beeped loudly and gave John such a big shock that he jumped from his seat. John had answered ‘NO!’ and the machine caught his lie! John could have ended up breaking the machine, but then the actor brushed it off as a fun gesture and carried on with his interview.

Talking about his co-star Pakhi, John said that he enjoyed working with her and there couldn’t have been a better person for the role played by Pakhi. Also, her innocence and beauty in the movie is commendable. John adds a twist to the tale by saying that he had to learn ‘how to lie’ from his director Abbas Tyrewala. All in all, the event was hugely enjoyed by everyone present there.

This Hindi film is based on infidelity and cheating spouses. Set in London, the film has Prashant Narayanan playing Ashwin Mehta and British-Indian actress, Aruna Shields playing Neera Singh. Both Ashwin and Neera find their respective spouses having an affair. Drawn together by shame and anger, they find comfort in their growing friendship even as they resolve not to be like their unfaithful mates, but ultimately end up as lovers. The film created much furore before its release because of numerous lip-lock scenes and a nude scene in which Aruna exposes her bare back. The film finally got the censor’s nod with an A certificate.

Prashant, seen on the small screen, was critically acclaimed for his performance in Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part 2 and also did a role in Ketan Mehta’s controversial period drama Rang Rasiya. Aruna Shields is best remembered for her role in Vivek Oberoi’s Prince Its Showtime. The film also has Lucy Hassan as Saki, Prashant’s wife and Naved Aslam as Karan Singh, Aruna’s husband. Ustaad Shujaat Hussain Khan, who was nominated for the Grammy awards, has rendered music to this film which has a few soulful ghazals. The music launch was held at the Infiniti mall in Mumbai earlier in the month of June, prior to the film’s release.
