Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan to host TV Show Zor Ka Jhatka

Shah Rukh Khan will be back in your living rooms with a new television series Zor Ka Jhatka on NDTV Imagine. The show will feature 28 big names from the television industry as contestants. The prize money for the winner is an overwhelming Rs. 1.5 crores which includes a cash prize of fifty lakhs. The show will be shot in the rugged terrains of Argentina starting early 2011.

Known for his impeccable sense of humor, comic timing, sharp wit and clever dialogues, Shah Rukh will be lending his magic touch to the show as the contestants battle out the difficult games laid out for them, like trying to maintain their balance while jumping across huge balls in the water, bouncing off big balls and dodging swinging pendulums thrown their way. As the contestants struggle enthusiastically with the tricky challenges, Shah Rukh will be adding spice and fun to the show with his hilarious commentary taking the fun and excitement to a new level!

At the launch of the show in Mumbai, Shahrukh Khan said, 'This is an exciting association for me on many levels...coming back to television, working with Sameer and Imagine once again and most importantly, because I'm doing something completely different from what I've done on television before. It promises to be a thrilling ride with lots of thrills and spills and I'm looking forward to being a super funny host-commentator. In fact my children and I have watched the international version often and really loved it. Together, Imagine and I are sure to 'Wipeout' all your worries and make you have loads of fun!'

The show is an Indian adaptation of the immensely popular Amercian reality show, Wipeout! Karan Johar’s ‘Koffee with Karan 3’ Will Showcase The Best Of Bollywood Rubbing Shoulders

New Lovers, New Enemies, New Controversies! Koffee with Karan 3 kicked off with a bang with Bollywood’s royal couple ‘Abhi-Ash’ on 7^th November 2010. The effervescent host of the show and owner of Dharma Productions, Karan Johar announced the opening at a glittering function recently. He was seen in his ‘Avant Garde’ style - a black suit with matching trousers at the launch event.

The show, noted for its fresh and witty appeal, is very popular with the younger audiences. It started airing in 2004 and was a huge success. Koffee with Karan brings together celebrities who are interviewed in the show's trademark informal style. It has many sections such as a “rapid fire” round in which random questions are asked to the celebrity, who have to think of answers off the top of their heads sometimes with stunning results. The winner receives a coffee hamper! Sometimes the show includes opinions from members of the public. Star World has picked up Koffee with Karan for a third season. It started on November 7, 2010 and is slotted to air every Sunday at 9pm (IST).

When quizzed about the details of the show, the host, Karan Johar said, “The format of the show will remain the same. However we have a new set and unique combinations of guests coming in! We’ve shot 50 episodes and each episode will have five segments each, with the 4^th one being the rapid fire round and the 5^th one being the public opinion. Also, the attractions of Coffemeter and Liometer will be seen on the TV Show. We’ve experimented with unusual and different combinations of stars and hope that they click and enchant the audiences with their witty humour. Obviously there are new enemies – new lovers and newer controversies, so obviously it’s going to exciting and fun for all!”

The first guests on the show were the ‘Royal Couple’ of Bollywood – Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan! This is the first time that ‘Abhi-Ash’ have appeared on a talk show as a couple after their marriage. Talking about celebrities getting offended, KJo was quick to reply, “Obviously not! No celebrity has ever been offended with the conversations that have happened on Koffee With Karan! Secrets are revealed at every stage, but no way has anyone ever been offended! Also the intimate talks that happen on my show are the real USP of Koffee With Karan!”

Watch the Fun and Frolic on the sets of Chote Ustad with Deepika and Neil

Be a part of all the fun and masti on the sets of Star Plus - Amul Chhote Ustaad- Do Deshon ki Ek Awaaz as the stars of Lafangey Parindey, Deepika Padukone and Neil Nitin Mukesh graced the sets with their presence and unique style.

The participants of Chhote Ustaad Deepika Neil event were divided into two teams. The Lafangey was team led by Neil and the Parindey team led by the beautiful Deepika. The young contestants were extremely excited to meet the duo and it showed in their enthusiastic performances.

Neil was equally keyed up about being on the show – he confessed that he was very intrigued by the interesting promo which highlighted the theme “Do Deshon ki Ek Awaaz” as this unique reality show has participants from India as well as Pakistan. This will be Neil’s second appearance on the musical reality show Chhote Ustaad. He had also appeared as a guest on Chhote Ustaad, Season 1. Despite suffering from a severe headache, Neil popped pills and came on sets and managed to have a great time. Sonu Niigaam too, who was down with fever, took injections during the shoots and was enthusiastic in spite his ill-health. Neil and Sonu sung the famous Mukesh number “Jaane Kahan Gaye Wo Din” together. Sonu says that his father was a Mukesh Bhakt. Sonu said that this song was a tribute to his father and Neil’s grandfather Late Mukesh.

Interestingly, one of the contestants challenged Deepika to a game of badminton! She may not be playing the game anymore, but actress she seemed to remember the nuances of the game very well as she got all her serves right! Deepika also sung a line or two after her co-star Neil egged her on to sing “Mann Lafanga” from their upcoming film. Sonu Niigaam apparently was much impressed by her tuneful rendition. Looking beautiful in a red churidaar, Deepika even performed her Ek Chutki Sindoor Ki Keemat scene from "Om Shanti Om". And, while Omi Vaidya aka Chatur played cop, Sonu Niigaam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan were at the judges table, creating a fine balance between work and pleasure. This was Deepika’s first appearance on the show. She got very emotional when, Rahat sang “Main Jahan Rahoon” and also when Sonu sang “Ab Mujhe Raat Din” on Neil’s request.
