Tell Me O Khuda to combat Ra.One

Tell Me O Khuda is senior Bollywood actress and danseuse, Hema Malini’s second directorial venture, with Dil Aashna Hai which had Shah Rukh Khan and Divya Bharti. The film is being touted as a relaunch for Hema Malini’s daughter, Esha Deol as an attempt to revive her floundering Bollywood caree. Arjan Bajwa will be seen as the male lead opposite Esha Deol. The film also stars some stalwarts of Hindi cinema like Dharamendra, Rishi Kapoor and Vinod Khanna. It will be for the first time that Esha Deol will be sharing screen space with her father Dharamendra. The role was initially offered to Amitabh Bachchan but things did not work out for some reason. “We had offered a role to Amitji for this film. But due to some reasons, it did not work out. I am glad that things did not work out with him and that is the reason Dharamji is in the film,” says Malini. Produced and directed by Hema Malini, Tell Me O Kkhuda, is a drama, that tracks the story of a girl’s passionate quest to know her origins. Tell Me O Khuda also grabbed the headlines when Hema Malini decided to release her film on the same day as Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One. Considering the hype and hullabaloo around Ra.One, everyone was wondering whether Tell Me O Khuda would be able to combat the competition by Ra.One. An unperturbed Hema Malini said, "We had a meeting with the distributors and exhibitors. And we all decided to go for a Diwali release. I was advised against it since 'RA.One' is also releasing for Diwali. But it's not as if people would want to watch only one film during Diwali," said Hema. "If they like both they'll see them both. I personally think Diwali is a wonderful window for any auspicious film. Some of the biggest successes have happened during the festive season. So why not go for it?" Hema isn't afraid of the competition. "We've made an emotional father-daughter story. I don't think we need to fear competition from anyone." A glimpse into Mumbai’s Bhindi Bazaar – the film

Bhindi Bazaar by debutant director Ankush Bhatt is an upcoming Hindi thriller. The film is a typically Mumbai film wherein the characters are fleshed out from the grizzly lanes of the city. The film set in the backdrop of crime has Kay Kay Menon, Piyush Mishra, Prashant Narayanan, Deepti Naval, Shilpa Shukla, Pawan Malhotra along with Shweta Verma, Vedita, Gautam Sharma and debutant American artiste Caterina Lopez in its star cast. The film scheduled for a 2011 release is climbing the popularity charts much before its release as it happens to be the only Hindi film to have made it to the Cannes Film Festival this year.

The film tells us the story of vicious gangs in the densely populated area of Bhindi Bazaar in Mumbai, who eke out an earning by pickpocketing and the treacherous games they play to survive in the profession. The film commences with game of chess being played between two characters, Shroff and Darzi. As the two players make calculated moves to reach out to the end of the board, every move of theirs reflects life in the real world and how people are used. The central character of the film is a small time pickpocketeer, Fateh, who nurtures ambitions of making it big by becoming the local area don. The screenplay well highlights dogged politics, authoritative commands, shrewd intelligence, crafty wit and cold blooded betrayals, within the business for the survival of the mightiest.
