Deepika Padukone goes the extra mile for Rana

Bollywood actress, Deepika Padukone who is a part of Rajinikanth’s ambitious project, Rana has been slogging very hard to give her best to the film. The film spans three different time periods and has southern superstar, Rajinikanth in a multi-generational triple role. Deepika is paired opposite him in his youth. Deepika has been working very hard to perfect her role, for which she is learning Sanskrit. The actress is also learning Vajra Mukti, a traditional Indian martial art form for the film. Apart from this, Deepika will also be practicing Bharat Natyam as her role in the film will requires so!!

The young Bollywood actress behaved like a true professional when her co-star, Rajini was recuperating in hospital and continued with her shoot. Impressed with her commitment and professionalism, Rana’s director, KS Ravikumar says, “She is a very professional, talented and nice actor, who has been a dream to work with. We are very happy to have wrapped up our first schedule with her.” Deepika will be seen donning a 17th century look with a South Indian touch in the historical action film.

Rana will be simultaneously released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. The music of the film will be by A R Rahman, while Director of Photography would be Ratnavelu. The film will be jointly produced by Rajinikanth and Eros International. Ganja Karuppu will be seen as the comedian in the film while Bollwyood actor, Sony Sood will play the antagonist in the film. There has been a lot of hearsay of other Bollywood actors like Rekha, Vidya Balan, Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini being signed for the film. But director Ravi Kumar dismissed all rumours saying that other than Padukone no one else has been signed yet for the film.

Are you ready for Salman Khan’s ‘Ready’?

‘Ready’, is an upcoming Bollywood entertainer that has Salman Khan as Prem and Asin Thottumkal as Sanjanna in the lead roles. The film is directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kishan Kumar and Sohail Khan. Apart fom Salman Khan the film also has Paresh Rawal, Arya Babbar and Mahesh Manjrekar in supporting roles. Bollywood actors, Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn, Kangna Ranaut, Arbaaz Khan and Zarine Khan will be seen in cameos in the film. Bollywood music director Pritam has composed the music for the film. The film is slated for release on 3rd June, 2011. The film is a remake of a 2008 Telugu film of the same name.

‘Ready’ is a sure shot entertainer by Salman Khan with the right doses of action, comedy and romance. ‘Ready’ has some brilliant action sequences packed with comedy that will surely enthrall the audiences. Salman and Asin are paired for the second time after London Dreams and their on screen chemistry is something to watch out for. The film was supposed to be shot in Mauritius initially but was shot in Sri Lanka instead and later in Bangkok. According to reports, Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt and Kangna Ranaut, who were shooting in Bangkok for David Dhawan's film, ‘Rascals’ were called by Salman Khan to be a part of the movie. The trio shot for a day and will be seen in brief appearances in the film. The trailer shows Salman Khan sporting spectacles in some scenes. The bespectacled look was brought in to conceal an eye infection the superstar encountered, resulting in red swollen eyes. But some of the scenes were re-edited and some patch work shooting did take place to replace the close ups showing Salman’s infected eyes!

Ra.One Trailer

Anticipation and speculation have been surrounding Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One for long now. The first look of the sci-fi flick has lain to rest all such assumptions as fans can finally have a glimpse of their super hero. Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in his maiden performance as a super hero in Ra.One, which portrays the usual story of victory of the good over the evil, but packaged differently. Shah Rukh plays G.One (Jeevan), the blue eyed protagonist in the film in which he is ably supported by Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal in a negative role as Ra.One. Bollywood actress, Kareena Kapoor plays Shah Rukh’s love interest in the film which is slated for an October release. According to Khan, "Ra.One" means "Random Access - Version 1.0"

Ra.One is Shah Rukh Khan’s home production and much was being said about its first look being revealed during the ICC World Cup Cricket Championships, which was quite ahead of its release. But according to King Khan, it was important to build the hype around the film and its characters, so that by the time audiences see the film in theatres, they are familiar with the characters.


The film was initially to be shot in Miami, in USA. But it did not work out due to financial constraints and was shot in India instead. The film directed by Anubhav Sinha, has been extensively shot in Film City in Mumbai and Goa, while some parts of it were shot in London. The film which was supposed to be released in June will now be in theaters only in October due to six months of post production work. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor, the star cast boasts of Shahana Goswami, Dalip Tahil, Satish Shah and international actor, Tom Wu. Tom Wu’s role was initially offered to Jackie Chan, which he declined. Shah Rukh has performed some magnificent stunts for the film, which required the actor to stay fit and in shape. The special effects for the film have been taken care of by a team from Hollywood. American singing sensation, Akon was also hired to belt out a couple of tracks for the film which have music by Vishal-Shekhar, while the background score has been composed by Hans Zimmer. With all the right ingredients, let’s hope Ra.One lives up to all the hype created around it.

Ranbir – Deepika patch up!!

Ranbir Kapoor and his ex girlfriend Deepika Padukone have decided to bury the hatchet and work together for Ayaan Mukherjee’s next film. Ayaan Mukherjee, who had cast Ranbir Kapoor in his first film, Wake Up Sid was undecided about the female lead in his next venture. This is when Deepika stepped in and called Ayaan several times, requesting him to cast her in the film, to which the film maker finally agreed.

Marred personal relationships often mark the end of professional relationships as well in Bollywood. But this time things seem to be different. It is good to see that the immensely talented actors Deepika and Ranbir have exhibited prudence and maturity and decided to keep their personal and professional issues apart.

If sources are to be believed, Ranbir Kapoor is said to be seeing Bollywood hottie Katrina Kaif while Deepika Padukone did not waste much time either in finding a shoulder to lean on in Siddharth Mallya, son of liquor baron Vijay Mallya after her break up with Ranbir.
