Deepika Padukone goes the extra mile for Rana

Bollywood actress, Deepika Padukone who is a part of Rajinikanth’s ambitious project, Rana has been slogging very hard to give her best to the film. The film spans three different time periods and has southern superstar, Rajinikanth in a multi-generational triple role. Deepika is paired opposite him in his youth. Deepika has been working very hard to perfect her role, for which she is learning Sanskrit. The actress is also learning Vajra Mukti, a traditional Indian martial art form for the film. Apart from this, Deepika will also be practicing Bharat Natyam as her role in the film will requires so!!

The young Bollywood actress behaved like a true professional when her co-star, Rajini was recuperating in hospital and continued with her shoot. Impressed with her commitment and professionalism, Rana’s director, KS Ravikumar says, “She is a very professional, talented and nice actor, who has been a dream to work with. We are very happy to have wrapped up our first schedule with her.” Deepika will be seen donning a 17th century look with a South Indian touch in the historical action film.

Rana will be simultaneously released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. The music of the film will be by A R Rahman, while Director of Photography would be Ratnavelu. The film will be jointly produced by Rajinikanth and Eros International. Ganja Karuppu will be seen as the comedian in the film while Bollwyood actor, Sony Sood will play the antagonist in the film. There has been a lot of hearsay of other Bollywood actors like Rekha, Vidya Balan, Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini being signed for the film. But director Ravi Kumar dismissed all rumours saying that other than Padukone no one else has been signed yet for the film.

Ra.One Trailer

Anticipation and speculation have been surrounding Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One for long now. The first look of the sci-fi flick has lain to rest all such assumptions as fans can finally have a glimpse of their super hero. Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in his maiden performance as a super hero in Ra.One, which portrays the usual story of victory of the good over the evil, but packaged differently. Shah Rukh plays G.One (Jeevan), the blue eyed protagonist in the film in which he is ably supported by Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal in a negative role as Ra.One. Bollywood actress, Kareena Kapoor plays Shah Rukh’s love interest in the film which is slated for an October release. According to Khan, "Ra.One" means "Random Access - Version 1.0"

Ra.One is Shah Rukh Khan’s home production and much was being said about its first look being revealed during the ICC World Cup Cricket Championships, which was quite ahead of its release. But according to King Khan, it was important to build the hype around the film and its characters, so that by the time audiences see the film in theatres, they are familiar with the characters.


The film was initially to be shot in Miami, in USA. But it did not work out due to financial constraints and was shot in India instead. The film directed by Anubhav Sinha, has been extensively shot in Film City in Mumbai and Goa, while some parts of it were shot in London. The film which was supposed to be released in June will now be in theaters only in October due to six months of post production work. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor, the star cast boasts of Shahana Goswami, Dalip Tahil, Satish Shah and international actor, Tom Wu. Tom Wu’s role was initially offered to Jackie Chan, which he declined. Shah Rukh has performed some magnificent stunts for the film, which required the actor to stay fit and in shape. The special effects for the film have been taken care of by a team from Hollywood. American singing sensation, Akon was also hired to belt out a couple of tracks for the film which have music by Vishal-Shekhar, while the background score has been composed by Hans Zimmer. With all the right ingredients, let’s hope Ra.One lives up to all the hype created around it.

‘Game’: A glimpse of the upcoming thriller

Game is the story of four strangers who come together under strange circumstances. Neil Menon (Abhishek Bachchan), O.P. Ramsay (Boman Irani), Tisha Khanna (Shahana Goswami), and Vikram Kapoor (Jimmy Shergill) are invited to Kabir Malhotra’s (Anupam Kher) private island Samos, in Greece. None of the characters knows each other and as soon as they arrive on the island, they wish that they had never come as they all become suspects in crime as Sia Agnihotri (Kangna Ranaut) gets murdered. The film promises to keep you on the edge of the seat with its twists and turns that involve love, revenge, retribution and murder.

Game has been shot across five international locations that include Greece, Istanbul, London and Bangkok apart from Mumbai. Game is believed to belong to the same genre as the ‘Bourne’ trilogy. The film has been directed by Abhinay Deo and is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Game is slated for a summer release in April this year. The film is interspersed with some enchanting tracks which have been composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The lyrics have been written by Javed Akhtar. The cinematography by Kartik Vijay looks promising as the beautiiful locales have been captured brilliantly on celluloid.

Ranbir – Katrina caught kissing!!

Bollywood hotties, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif were spotted kissing in a flight from Frankfurt to Mumbai last week. The couple who came close while shooting for two of their films, Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani and Rajneeti has been denying their close association while contrarily reports have been pointing at their growing proximity.

The kissing incident came to light when an Indian RJ blogged about it, mentioning her friend as a witness to the thing. Katrina, who was wearing a T-shirt and jeans and was without make up, looked around several times looking for known faces before she accepted Ranbir’s open show of affection for her. The pair were holding hands as they exchanged a kiss! Most of the co-passengers who were European businessmen did not seem to notice or recognize the star couple as Ranbir went on to plant quite a few kisses on Kat’s cheek, which she did not object to......or rather seemed to enjoy the gesture. Ranbir was away in Amsterdam shooting for an ad, while Katrina decided to join him to spend some time together!
